Can Quick-Step® be glued full-surface?Full-surface gluing is strictly not recommended. If it is done, the warranty is void.
Full-surface gluing is expensive, time-consuming and very difficult. The sub-floor must be perfectly even (= you need to level it) and damp-proof (= you need to apply an epoxy resin). In addition, you need an expensive two-component glue to glue the laminate to the sub-floor.
Why would you want to use the full-surface gluing method?
Underfloor heating:
underfloor heating can be combined perfectly with a floating installation if the correct Quick-Step® underlay (Quick-Step® Unisound) is used. Refer to the special instructions for underfloor heating.
Acoustic insulation
here you need to distinguish between transit sound and reflection sound. Transit sound can only be reduced with a floating installation; this is very difficult if you use the full-surface gluing method.
Reflection sound can be reduced more with the full-surface gluing method. Quick-Step® has the ideal solution for this too.
Use the Quick-Step® Unisound underlay. This allows you to combine the benefits of a floating floor without the acoustic setbacks. |
